You are attracted to the Restaurant Carat by the smells so typical of Kras. The Karstic women have always known how to prepare excellent dishes from ingredients offered by the nature and our chefs only add a pinch of imagination.
The cuisine of Kras excels for its fresh, season spices. You can try meat, a wide selection of cheese, sheep meat, venison, polenta and many others.
Beside typical Karstic dishes, the restaurant Carat also offers the Mediterranean cuisine. A rich choice of fish or sea food and a wide selection of fresh vegetables – all seasoned with home made Istrian olive oil. The masters of culinary art like surprising their guests with thematic menus, adapted to one of the four seasons, containing fresh ingredients available only at specific times of year.
The rich selection of food is completed by the best wines that originate from all the wine-growing districts of the Primorska wine region. Beside the world-known sorts, we also offer old, autochthon sorts like Zelen, Vitovska grganja, Pinela and Klarnca. For dessert, you can choose between sweeter wines from Štajerska region or dried wines from Kras or the typical dessert wine in the region of Kras – the Teran liqueur. The friendly waiters will gladly give you advice on how to choose the right wine for you.
Every Saturday, the restaurant guests can enjoy the rhythm of dance music produced by Slovenian musicians and at the same time our cooks prepare a special Saturday night menu. In summer time, the guests can take delight in culinary joys also on the terrace of the restaurant.

Lunch & dinner:
served between 12 o’clock and midnight.
The restaurant has 120 seats and it is a pleasant place for the organisation of bigger gatherings, parties or weddings.
